I have loved (the idea of) Scuba Diving, since I was a kid, growing up in the 1960's. I loved watching Sea Hunt (The TV Show) and dreaming of all the adventures that I could have. If I only had some Scuba Gear. We lived just 1/2 mile from a nice Lake... But, I've only got to go Scuba Diving one time, back in the 1980's. It was with my Brother. Who took Scuba Diving Classes and got Certified, back then. We live in Texas and went to Scuba Point on Possum Kingdom Lake. We Dove down about 40 feet (not anywhere near the bottom of the underwater cliff there) and explored an under water Steel Platform and an old Sunken Car. I absolutely loved Scuba Diving!:) Even though I had water in my ears for 3 weeks after that day. And stayed a bit dizzy, the whole time, because of that water that I just couldn't get out of ears!:O I never got to go Scuba Diving again and haven't kept up with developments in Diving since the 80's. Today, I was reading an article at Boatingmag.com. I get their e-mail Mag, just for fun. The article was called. The World's Most Versatile Boat - Is a PWC the world’s most versatile boat? By Jeff Hemmel, Illustrations by Ryan Etter. I enjoyed the Article and he told about his New Hooka Diving System. That he took along on his Trip. Now, I didn't know what a "PWC" was. Turns out, it is a "Sea-Doo Wake 155". I've always wanted something like that too!;) What I'd really like to have, is a Gibbs Quadski. It's a Boat and 4 Wheeler, all in one!:) But, back to Hooka Diving... I have always known about Diving by Air Hose. This is how they did it in the "Old Days". The movies, that had Divers in them, when I was growing up. Had Men Diving in the Ocean with Diving Suits and Diving Helmets, that were hooked up to an Air Hose, connect to the Ship or Big Boat that took them out into the Ocean. To look for Sunken Treasure or a Sunken Navy Vessel. Then there were the Diving Bells. Usually Round Canisters, that the Diver would get into and be lowered down into the Depths. And of course, Connected to a Big Air Hose that fed them Air to Breath. Usually, a Giant Squid or something with Huge Long Tentacles would Appear and Threaten our Diving Heroes Lives. Thus, the Movie Ensues with great Diving Adventures!:) And of course. No Seat Hunt Episode, would be complete. Without an Under Water Knife fight. Which most always, ended up with Mike's or some unsuspecting Skin Diver - Explorer's Air Hose being cut into. Resulting in a Frantic Swim to the Surface or sometimes even Drowning (not Mike's of course). Awww... for the good old days of TV;)...
