That's what the "Old People" use to say, when I was growing up. But, I never thought that I would be sayin that my self. At least, not this soon... But, here I sit, Soaking my Feet and writing a Blog Post about it too!:O What do you use to Soak Your Feet? You ask... Well, that all depends on what your problem or reason for the need to Soak your Feet is... Mine, is some sort of very itchy red rash that makes me scratch till it hurts and that makes it feel better. It started a month or so ago. At first I thought it was because I put too much Bleach in, when washing my socks. Then, I thought that it might be because I upped my daily dose of Vitamin B-12. But, after a couple of weeks and no relief. Then I thought it might be the Clothes Soap, that I was using. Since I had switched to another Brand that was On a Good Sale. I have to use the "Free" type of Detergent. Because I do get a mild rash from the Regular Clothes Soap. Nothing like this though! But, after using all of that Soap up and getting some of the Brand that I usually use. And after showing my feet to the FNPA Nurse at my local clinic. I still don't know for sure what it causing the Rash. She, told me that I could try using... I tried it out a couple of times. It seemed to help the first time. But, the second time. It seemed to make matters worse. I still planned on using Domeburo, a few more times. But, kept letting the time get away, each day. And it was just too late to stay up and Soak my Feet before Bed. And now it's been over a month and a half, of red bumps and dry skin and itching. Usually I can get rid of any skin irritations and dryness, by using some Alo Vera Gel. That I get from the local CVS Pharmacy. The kind for Sun Burn (the Blue gel). The kind without any Alcohol. It's was the best Alo Vera that I had found, of any Brand and I have tried most of them. I have used this stuff almost every day, for over 10 years with great success. But, they did recently change the formula. The only real difference, that I see is that they left out one of the ingredients (of the ones that are on the label, that is). I can't remember the name of that ingredient, right now. Could that one thing, really be causing this horrible Itching Rash? Maybe it's something else, all together... I don't know... But, for now. I'm gonna, just go and "Soak my Feet"...

Burow's solution is a pharmacological preparation made of aluminium acetate dissolved in water. It was invented in the mid-19th century by Karl August Burow, an ophthalmologist.
The preparation has astringent and antibacterial properties and is used to treat a number of skin conditions such as insect bites, rashes caused by poison ivy and poison sumac, swelling, allergies and bruises. Burow's solution is traditionally applied in cold compresses over the affected area. In otology, it is applied as ear drops of a 0.13% solution.^[1] Burow's solution is available over the counter as a generic preparation. Bayer also manufactures a modified form of the preparation under the commercial name Domeboro.

Mix one, two or three packets in 16 oz of water to obtain the following modified Burow's Solution (Dilution/% Aluminum Acetate): One Packet - 1:40/0.14%. Two Packets - 1:20/0.28%. Three Packets - 1:13/0.42%. Do not strain or filter the solution. Can be used as a compress, wet dressing or a soak. As A Compress or Wet Dressing: Saturate a clean, soft, white cloth (such as diaper or torn sheet) in the solution. Gently squeeze and apply loosely to the affected area. Saturate the cloth in the solution every 15 to 30 minutes and apply to the affected area. Discard the solution after each use. Repeat as often as necessary. As A Soak: Soak affected area in the solution for 15 to 30 minutes. Discard solution after each use. Repeat 3 times a day. Protect from excessive heat.

What water temperature should be used for making the solution?

Regular tap water at room temperature is the best. Hot water may irritate the skin surface further.
The powder may take a much longer time to dissolve in cold water.

Can the Domeboro solution be reused?

No. We do not recommend that you reuse the solution if it has come in contact with the skin (i.e. if you re-inserted the cloth into the solution after touching the skin/affected area).
However, you may divide the solution into separate portions and use only one portion at one time to prevent any possible contamination from the skin to the other portions of the solution.
The unused solution may be stored at room temperature, in a clean, capped container for up to 7 days.
