Well, that's sad to see. But, it was a test flight and that's what tests are for... Testing and to learn... I read and saw some videos (see one below), several years ago. That allot of the Data, info and Plans for the original NASA Space Craft that were Developed during the Gemini and Apollo Missions. Was Not Saved, as they worked. Citing, "Not Enough Time or Money" as the main reasons. During the "Space Race". That they Didn't Back up the Data on the Slow Computers and Drive Systems, that were available at the time. And I'm sure that the main reason was. That most everything was on Paper Drawings and this would take allot of time and Man Power (Money) to Digitize all of this info. But, even the Papers were not all preserved for Posterity. Now, that is a very very Sad thing. And allot of the Original NASA Engineers, have Died now and are no longer available to Teach the Rocket Scientists of Today. These kids are having to Reverse Engineer, the Parts that are left laying around in the Space and Aviation Scrap Yards!:O And in NASA Museums! What is left and what they can get their hands on, that is... That's how SpaceX or which ever Company that was in the Video that I saw. Developed their Rocket Engine. From the looks of the Morpheus Lander. It is a very crude rendition of the Original Lunar Lander. Imagine, if they had the Plans to the Original Lunar Lander (LEM). How fast and accurately, one like it could be Built. With Today's Computerized CNC Machines! Sad, very sad, indeed... But, I'm sure that these things can be figured out again. It may just take a bit more time... Quite a Bit More time. Having to use Trial and Error... Again...
